Artist Statement

Many of my images are inspired by places I have visited and are personally significant. Many of these places are meaningful not only for their obvious beauty but also for the hidden beauty and the natural phenomenon’s that transpire for a particular place to exist. I am amazed by the constant changes that need to take place in order for something to live. The four essential elements, Earth, air, fire and water are key to the survival of every living thing. My monotypes and paintings are re-examinations of these places. I build texture and form through the use of transparent glazes, Oil-based inks, Chine Colle, collographs and color pencil.
